From Classroom to Studio! C EYE Hosts CMU Photography Students for an Immersive Production Experience

Chamni’s Eye was delighted to welcome Creative Photography students from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, for an exclusive industry visit. This event was designed to provide hands-on learning and real-world experience in professional photography through insightful talks and workshops led by seasoned experts in production.

The session kicked off with an introduction to Chamni’s Eye by Yay, a producer and impromptu host, followed by an in-depth look into Chamni’s Eye Production and its Production Workflow. Students learned about the step-by-step process behind creating a professional photograph—from Post-Production planning, receiving client briefs, team assignments, selecting photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, scouting locations, sourcing props, and much more, leading up to the actual production day. After the shoot, the images are then passed on to the Post-Production or Retouching team. This session gave students a comprehensive understanding of the industry and how various teams collaborate behind the scenes to produce the stunning commercial images we see today.

Next up was Insider Talks: Stories of Work & Life in Production, featuring real-world career insights. Yan, a Chiang Mai University alumnus and producer, shared his industry experiences before handing the mic to Ae, a professional retoucher, who showcased meticulous retouching techniques. Following this, Fon, another CMU alumnus from the same faculty and major, shared her journey of working in the production industry, even though her role isn’t strictly aligned with photography. Now a Project Manager at Gen AI Studio, she presented a Success Case demonstrating how AI technology is being integrated into production workflows.

The highlight of the event was an immersive Workshop Lighting session at Chamni’s Eye Studio, led by Bee, a highly skilled advertising photographer. He presented real-world case studies to teach students lighting techniques and the effective use of lighting accessories. A key challenge was simulating natural light in a studio setting, and students learned how to achieve the most natural-looking results using advanced lighting techniques.

We hope this experience provided students with valuable knowledge, inspiration, and positive energy to carry forward into their studies and future careers!
